The article mentions that when you read as a writer (RLW), you work to identify the choices the author has made to better understand the writing.This involves looking closely at what you read, looking at the writing techniques to decide if you want to adopt similar (or the same) techniques in your writing. The article refers to reading to learn to write, rather than reading for content or to better understand the ideas in the text. In my personal opinion to become a good writer you should focus on the techniques to adapt it to your style, learning to read like a writer will help you to become a good writer using the appropriate concepts and techniques.
